Food Bank Drive a Success

The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation, along with the Ryan Newman Foundation, are excited to announce that--with the help of thousands of race fans--the food drive and pet food drive held during Lowe’s Motor Speedway race weeks was a tremendous success.

Together the two foundations collected over 2,767 pounds of canned goods, 365 lbs of pet food and over $1,000 in donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHFBM) strives through education, advocacy, and partnerships to eliminate hunger by the solicitation and distribution of food.  SHFBM provides a regional distribution warehouse and branches that supply food and grocery items to charitable agencies that assist people in need. They also provide training, consultation, technical assistance, and hunger education to our partner agencies. For more information, visit http://www.secondharvestcharlotte.org.
